Ozark Housing Development, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation formed in 1995. Our mission is to assist low income families obtain housing that is decent, safe, sanitary and in good condition. We train hard and work hard to make sure housing units meet the standards set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In addition, we participate in E-Verify®.

HQS, UPCS, and REAC Inspections

Housing Quality Standards (HQS) are the minimum quality standards set by HUD for tenant-based programs. These standards are required both at initial occupancy and during the term of the rent or lease.

Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) refer to a set of standards set by inspectors who work for HUD and the Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). It is used to assess the physical condition of public housing units as well as housing units that are insured by various programs under HUD.

HUD conducts periodic (one year, two year or three year) UPCS inspections of its Public and Multi-Family Housing units. Results are reported to HUD and released to the public. These inspections provide incentives for scoring well and penalties for poor performers.
